by Marie Beaulieu - The recent letter from the Tories congratulating one of the worst human rights abusers on the planet, the Chinese Communist Party, is a total disgrace. Not that long ago, Canada used to be a leader in human rights. So why has the Harper administration gone morally blind when it comes to dealing with China? A country that is none other than a terrorist state and thinks nothing of harvesting the organs of countless Falun Gong followers for profit. A country that jails human rights lawyers, tortures priests and monks and instills fear in its people. A country that exports their shoddy products globally poisoning sentient beings and expects respect in return.
Why do we even bother to drum up more business with those dictators?
These Tories' shenanigans certainly give new meaning to the phrase 'Butchers of Beijing'. Would somebody tell Walsh that encouraging the commies is not doing humankind a favour!
